This lovely new restaurant is located at 258 Westchester Avenue in Pound Ridge, NY. The building is a former inn, dating back to 1883.
The sign out front tells it all.
When we visited by day, Jean-Georges welcomed us in.
Keeping the original footprint, Jean-Georges had the building fully restored, a project that took more than 2 years. This is the main dining room upstairs getting prepped for the evening of meals ahead.
The tables are set with generous linen napkins and mismatched flatware and china - a very charming look.
This was the scene when we ate there at the soft opening.
Another dining area is located downstairs in the cellar.
Downstairs offers more intimate dining.
This is one of the several cozy nooks downstairs.
The private dining room adjacent to the wine cellar is lit solely by candlelight.
Many fine wines in the cellar
The menu changes frequently and offers delicious, seasonal dishes.
I went to Family & Friends night with a lively party of 16. Seated next to me is Stephen Sills, Susan Magrino, Cecelia Kellie-Smith, Tom Jarrold, and Rachel Schechtman.
Seated at the other table was Sam Kelli-Smith - a famous polo player from South Africa, England, and now Bedford!, Muffin Dowdle, and Cindy West.
Cindy ventured to the Inn's downstairs bar area for a cocktail.
She ordered a delicious citrus bourbon cocktail, which was served on a rather creative corrugated cardboard coaster.
Georgie, the friendly bartender
Meanwhile, the kitchen was bustling and Jean Georges and his kitchen staff were hard at work.
Jean Georges always has an excellent and well-organized team.
Dress for the servers is a rustic look with plaid shirts.
This is the pastry chef, Melody Farrar.
Melody and her husband, Chef Blake Farrar, oversee the kitchen at the Inn. They are both alums of Jean Georges.
During our day visit, Westchester Magazine was there photographing for an upcoming issue.
One of Melody's creations - Marshmallow frosted chocolate cake - It was a big hit!
The local cheeses, salamis, and pickled vegetables were amazing! And so was the local honey!
This is the rustic Mushroom Pizza with Three Cheeses and Farm Egg, which was superb.
This colorful dish is the Housemade Ricotta and Smashed Cranberries with Grilled Sourdough.
It was a full house and everyone was enjoying the experience.
David Liederman of David's cookies stopped by to say hello.
My CFO Ken West, my nephew-in-law Dan Slater, and Susan's husband Jim Dunning
Seated across from Ken was my niece, Sophie.
Dan tried the Bacon Gruyere Grass Fed Burger with Russian Dressing and Yuzu Pickles. He said it was excellent.
Sophie really enjoyed here entree of Sautéed Diver Scallops, Meyer Lemon Cauliflower Sauce, Fried Onions, Garlic and Capers.
Stephen Sills and Susan Magrino
Here I am with David Neville, one of the founders of the fabulous clothing line, Rag & Bone.
Other guests of the restaurant that night were Tommy and Thalia Mottola, and Richard Gere.
It was great to see restaurateur, Phil Suarez, Jean-Georges' business partner. They have worked together for more than twenty years and the list of international restaurants they've created is staggering!
Here I am with Summer Pantano, whose outfit I greatly admired.
Summer's mother is Soo Jee Lee, my executive assistant.
And here I am with Gucci Westman, the celebrated makeup artist and cosmetic designer.
