Behind the scenes of my latest book, Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts!
I am so happy to introduce my latest book, Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Crafts. This amazing tome is a technique-based, how-to reference book, which includes more than 200 innovative craft projects. With thorough, step-by-step instructions and more than 700 instructional and inspirational photos, this book makes crafting fun and exciting.
As you know, crafts has always been an extremely popular subject at Martha Stewart Living. Our crafts editors (Please visit their blog!) have developed an impressive library of projects that clearly display our talent for adopting and adjusting historical and established techniques. Today, with our ideas and our creativity, and with modern tools and materials, we have brought these crafts into the twenty-first century. This Encyclopedia of Crafts will serve as a helpful guide for anyone who loves to create.

Hi Martha, What a great cover for a book I can already tell is going to be another best seller. I'm hoping to go to Costco real soon to get my copy of your latest encyclopedia about another chapter of Living. You make Living so much fun with crafts, cooking, gardening, pets etc. I just wish I had some of your fantastic encyclopedias back in the 60's when I started teaching 3rd to 6th graders. The kids would have loved all of them because I loved to share with them and teach them fun stuff. Give F&S a big hug. Jan

Hi Martha,
This is a very exciting book, thanks for sharing. We were in Italy earlier this year and went to a wonderful paper shop in Florence where the proprietor showed my daughters, ages 6 and 10 a marbleizing technique. It is one of our favorite memories. We brought home beautiful keepsakes from that shop.
Looking forward to getting my hands on a copy of this new book!

Looking forward to owning my own copy, what a wonderful reference for crafters. Does it have crafts for kids too? It would make an excellent teacher's gift.

I saw the episode yesterday & not only enjoyed the crafts featured, but laughed my head off. I can't wait to buy the book.

Hi Martha,
Like Jan, I will probably be going to Costco's to get my copy and I hope they have it available this week. My sister was ordering things from Amazon and I thought she put your Encyclopedia of Crafts on the list like I asked her nicely but "she FORGOT" unless she's pulling an April Fools joke on me.
I enjoy crafting and I can't wait to see the book. I wish I could attend the first signing in Westbury, New York, at noon on April 3rd. (It’s at Michael’s at the Roosevelt Raceway Center).
Thanks for taking us Behind the Scenes. Trish

Congratulations, Martha, on yet another wonderful new book release! (and I mean this from my heart!) I just can't say enough, too, how wonderful you look on the cover. It's colorful, too, which is what crafting invokes. It's neat to know where this cover originated - since we've 'visited' your blog studio several times, I felt like I already knew my way around.
(I say that) I'm not too crafty, but I feel like I do have a good eye for design. Each of us has different depths of creativity hidden inside, I guess, and we express ourselves in a variety of ways. I'll be excited for my next date-nite with my husband - we enjoy going to Borders and stacking up our table with our favorite reads. Mine of course is/will be a-l-w-a-y-s Martha-related!
I lovedlovedLOVED yesterday's (Tues, 3/31's) crafting show with Rosie (and Jennifer and Alexis). It was entertaining from the very beginning, and there was just a certain excitement in the air - I just loved it! The unscripted candor was fun, too (and actually very enlightening at times! [giggle])
Edgar =^..^= and I will be looking forward to today's April Fool's Day show (tonite!)
I love you, Martha Stewart!

I've been counting down the days until this book came out. I'm hoping to get over to the book store today as I didn't make it yesterday. From what I say on MSL yesterday it looks like another hit! Oh gotta go - MSL is about to start!

I can't wait to get this book, and I know my fifteen year-old daughter will also have a lot of fun with it. I have a suggestion for a possible future project - I would love a handbook on knitting, sewing, and other fabric arts. I'm really enjoying your blog, especially the pictures!

Hi Martha:
Congratulations on your new book. I am excited about it. It looks great. I watched your April fools show today, too many silly pranks. I liked all the "Aprils" in their yellow rain slickers.

I dvr the show daily so that I will have something informational and entertaining to view after a long day at the office. This weeks craft show with Rosie and the Whatever girls has got to be one of the most entertaining shows I've seen in a long time. Thanks for all the info and the laughs. You have been a personal friend of mine for many years, even though we have never met. Can't wait to get my copy of the new craft book. Thanks again, Martha. Maureen

I am trying to be patient waiting for my copy of your new book, it takes awhile to get to Australia. This time I won't let it out of my sight. I got your Cooking School book and it was whisked away the day I got it and I haven't seen it since. How I would love to have a craft room like yours.
